Crazy Money is a beautiful natural polled registered girl. She is four and a half years old and confirmed bred AI to sexed 075341195. Due November 1, 2023. She makes lots of milk and is a layed back cow. She has medium long teats. She does prefer machine milking over hand milking, but if you put a kick bar on her she will stand still enough for hand milking. She is curious and let’s me pet on her some days, but not all the time. Sometimes she would rather do her own thing.

She doesn’t mind being touched occasionally even when free in the field. I think she would make an excellent beginner cow for someone who has a small pen to get her adjusted to her new home and family.

She is a young girl, so if you are a beginner you would need a small pen to get her adjusted to her new farm set up, but I think a beginner could handle her.

I think she prefers being milked by hand. We have got her really comfortable walking on a lead. She is going to be coming with us to the Ozarks Homesteading Expo in Marshfield, MO August 24-26th along with her bull calf. She has let kids milk her when she is loose. I think she would make a great beginning cow even with her being younger, she has a solid temperament and it is hard to spook or scare this girl.

Melon is a beautiful, dark Jersey. She is a 2 year old. She had her first calf late May and she has been a dream in the barn. She is so calm and stands well almost all the time. She is a great mom to a little bull calf. She is nursing him and being milked 1 time per day. She milks good from all 4 quarters. Some quarters seem a bit bigger than others. I’m not sure if it will even out when the calf is weened or if she is just slightly unbalanced, but all 4 work as they should. She can be milked by hand or machine. She doesn’t seem to mind either, but her teats are medium short in size, so if you grew up milking goats and want to try hand milking, I’m sure she would be a good fit, if you are a beginner milker you may want to get a machine for this girl.

She did get her head stuck in a head gate about a year ago and so she does have an odd bump on the side of her face, but it has not given her any noticeable issues besides looking funny. She has nice long teats, but not the most balanced udder. Probably just got nursed unevenly at first, so she may balance out some with time. She is a smaller producer, but will likely go up in future lactations. She likes attention outside and sometimes comes over to me for petting. She is still a bit timid about being milked. If you move slowly and smoothly she usually does ok for over half the milking, but sometimes she gets dancy about half way through.
