Soup

Soup is a sweetheart. She loves people and attention and could be loved on all day. She would be a perfect fit for a family with young children or for a homesteader who is new to milking. She is a 3-year-old with good production and medium teat length, and she behaves well for both hand and machine milking. Soup is bred to an Angus bull and is confirmed pregnant, due April 22nd. This girl doesn’t spook and will walk up to just about anyone for attention. Although she is mostly used to machine milking in the barn, she is perfectly happy to be hand milked out in the field. That setup isn’t the easiest if you’re hoping to keep all the milk, as she may move around more than she would in a barn or milking station.

Kim

Kim is a curious 3-year-old. She is a good producer and behaves well during milking time. She is mostly accustomed to machine milking, although she has behaved well for me when I’ve tried hand milking. Her teats are well spaced but medium-short in length, so they’re not ideal for comfortable hand milking. She was AI bred on 10/11/2025 to 777JE1484, a registered A2A2 Jersey bull, using sexed heifer semen. I pregnancy-checked her too early and received a recheck result, and we plan to test again soon to confirm pregnancy. We have not seen her in heat since. Kim would be a great addition for someone with a small dairy.

Keli is a sweet 3-year-old and is pregnant with her third calf. She has been a good mom and has calved on her own for her first two calves. She was bred to our bull Nathan and is due in May 2026. She loves attention and is not easily spooked. Keli does well with young children—loving but not pushy. She has medium teat length and is a good producer, though she is currently milking from three quarters. She sustained an injury to the teat end on her front right quarter during this lactation, and that quarter has since dried up. It may come back next lactation, or it may not

Beca is a beautiful A2A2 registered Jersey with good, medium-long teats and a well balanced udder. She calved easy on her own in February.  She is confirmed pregnant by our registered A2A2 Jersey bull, Nathan, and due March 2026. Beca is great at coming in the barn for milking. She did get a sore foot from the mud this past month, so she does favor her back left foot. That has made her a little kicky sometimes for milking because she doesn’t like me hosing it off and sanatizing it. Besides that she is a very sweet, gentle girl.

Pabs is just now 3 years old. She had her first calf easily on her own last winter and is confirmed bred back for a late May to early June calf. She is producing well on once-a-day milking and has medium teat length with good spacing. Some quarters now produce a bit more or less than others—they came in fairly even, but since she’s later in her lactation, her udder isn’t quite as even as when she was freshly calved. She does fine with machine milking but can be a bit fidgety for easy hand milking. With some time and patience, I think she would do well with it—she’s just not quite there yet.

Marina

Marina is a very sweet, well-mannered 2-year-old. She is a great producer and has good teat length and spacing for both hand and machine milking. She is accepting of calves, making her an excellent choice for a nurse cow. She had her first calf this August and is possibly early bred. Marina is quite friendly and regularly walks up to me and my kids for attention. She would make an excellent cow for a beginner who is just getting started, for a family with high milk needs, or for someone wanting a cow to help feed calves. She was producing over 6 gallons per day on twice-a-day milking, and currently gives over 4 gallons per day on once-a-day milking.

Terri is a tiny 2.5-year-old Jersey. She calved easily on her own this summer and bred back quickly for a June calf. She has slender, medium-long teats with good spacing. Terri is a great mom and is regularly seen adopting calves in the herd—she’s kind of like a babysitter. This can be really handy, as she raises strong, healthy calves, but it also makes it nearly impossible to measure her exact milk production. We usually get almost 2 gallons each morning from her, but it’s clear she’s been recently nursed on, judging by the calf slobber still on her teats. She’s a little more nervous when taken away from the herd, so she would likely do best on a farm that already has other cows—probably not the best choice for a first-time cow owner. Although she has been easy to milk by hand or machine and has done well with calf sharing on our farm, she may become too stressed to behave well if completely isolated.

Fancy is a lovely, just 2-year-old heifer who had her first calf in July 2025. She is doing well with both hand and machine milking and has nicely spaced, medium-length teats that are ideal for hand milking. We have started her on lead training, and she is currently exposed to our bull Nathan, so she may be early bred. Fancy has great body structure and is producing just shy of 3 gallons per day on once-a-day milking.

Ali is a sweet 2-year-old who calved on her own in late September. She is a great mom and does well being milked by either hand or machine. She has medium-long teats with good spacing. Ali was bred to our A2A2 polled Jersey bull on 11/7/2025. She has started halter training and is improving all the time. She’s a good producer for a 2-year-old and would make a great addition to any farm.

Velina has great body structure. She is naturally polled and had her first calf this past winter. She was bred to our bull Nathan on 10/3/2025 and will be 3 years old in November. She has medium-long teats and a nicely attached udder. Velina does well for both hand and machine milking and has just started halter training. She has a laid-back temperament and regularly lets people walk up and touch her in the field. She is currently giving about 2.5 gallons per day on once-a-day milking. Now for her downsides: Velina got pink eye this summer in her right eye. She has recovered but still has some white scarring in that eye. She also has a bit of hoof rot on her back right foot. She does walk on it, but it remains a little tender.

Vinna is a sweet and friendly 2 year old. She had her first calf on her own with no problems end of November. She is confirmed bred to our A2A2 bull, Osceola, and due mid December. She has a nice rounded, symertical udder with medium-short teats that are spaced well. She is not a fan of being milked by hand, but she is usually fine with the milking machine, as long as you are slow and smooth putting it on her. She really likes people and regularly comes up to strangers as well as our family for attention.

She was bred to our A2A2 Jersey bull, Nathan. She has an excellent, compact body and holds her weight well. Money is still getting into the milking routine and does best with a gentle touch. She has nice, thick, medium-length teats and a well-balanced udder. At this time, she prefers to be milked by machine, but with time and patience, she will likely adjust to hand milking.

Lois is a cow with a great udder. She has nice long teats and good spacing. She is usually well-behaved for hand or machine milking. She is a follower and usually waits until near the end of milking for her turn, but she comes in on her own. She was AI bred with sexed heifer semen to a registered A2A2 Jersey on 6/2/2025. She was a great mom and even nursed a few other calves shortly after calving in April. Now she is just being milked once per day without calves.

Prim is a 3 year old Jersey. She just had her 2nd calf this March. She is exposed to our A2A2 Jersey bull, Nathan, and bred mid August. She is friendly and a great producer with a great udder and nice teat length. She comes in the barn and is easy to get her to go where you need her, but she can be a pain for milking. She gets the kick bar on at milking time. Last lactation she did get to a point where she did not need it, but she is probably extra tight being new in milk and a good producer.  She would be a good fit for someone with a small raw milk dairy with some exprience and don’t mind using a kick bar.

She has medium teat length and is mostly accustomed to machine milking, but she normally stands well for hand milking too. Bambie is well-mannered and easy to work with—always eager to get into the barn at milking time, usually in the first or second row. She’s a good mom and nursed her last calf until weaning while being milked once a day. She’s currently being milked once per day without a calf.

With her natural instincts, she would likely make an excellent nurse cow. She has medium-long teats and behaves well for both hand and machine milking. Baili is one of our taller Jerseys. She is a 3 year old that had her first calf in December. She is confirmed bred to Osceola and is due in November. She has a gentle personality and is easy to work with. She is friendly and not shy at all. Baili calved in with her front right quarter not functioning at all. The other 3 work well and she is still an average producer with only 3. It looks like it may have been injured when she was young and just never developed like it should have. We have used Baili for a nurse cow and she has been doing great with it. The calves are now weaned and she is on a 1x per day milking schedule with the rest of the herd. Baili is very gentle and stands great for machine or hand milking. She has shorter teat length and is easier machine milked.

She has a nice even udder with medium teat length.  She was a little touchy about being milked when she first freshened in January,  but she is settling into the routine now and behaves most of the time for either hand or machine milking. She was AI bred to an a2a2 Jersey with sexed heifer semen on June 2nd. This girl is not shy or timid at all. She has been handled and had kids ride on her a lot. She can have a bit of a strong personality,  so occasionally she will need a firm hand to make her mind.

Brave is a very sweet girl. She milks great by machine. She can be hand milked and behaves well for it, but her teats are a little short, and her right side produces a bit more than the left. I prefer machine milking her, but she could easily adjust to hand milking if you choose. She is very sweet and gentle. She was AI bred on 5/31/2025 with sexed heifer semen to a registered A2A2 Jersey. She did get some sores on her back feet from all the rain this past month, but they are healing up. She doesn’t limp but does walk carefully on her back feet.

Even with her being a 2 year old, I think she is gentle and sweet enough that most beginners would be able to handle her.

Sunny is 3.5 year old awesome nurse cow. She calved in mid February and lost her calf due to the cold. She was heartbroken and wanted a baby so badly she kept breaking into our calf barn with the bottle calves at the time. She has a nice well attached udder. She did get some minor teat damage due to the cold when she calved, which healed, but was sensitive to milking because of that. We had her in with the calves as nurse cow until they were weaned. She is now on a 1x per day milking schedule with the rest of the herd. Sunny is getting used the change, and doing well with machine milking and usually OK with hand milking as well. She was bred AI with sexed heifer A2A2 Jersey semen on 6/3.

Glenda is a quite friendly girl. She just turned 3 years old this fall. She calved on her own in October and bred to Dandy for a late September to early October calf. She is a good milker, but would recommend her to someone planning to milk with a machine.  She has shorter teats, and her front right is pretty light. I usually hook the milker to it for just a little bit and hold the hose line then take it off that quarter and plug the extra inflation so that it will hold in place on its own.

Bipy is a lovley, almost 3 year old Jersey. She is confirmed bred to Dandy, currently dry and is due late July to early August. She is naturally polled. She is past her peek production, but still milking well. She has a nice plump round udder with shorter teat length better for machine milking. She calved on her own first time and was a great mom. We let her calf share for a few weeks before separating them. She has a shorter frame and should have a pretty small calf as well being bred to Dandy.  David has been working on lead breaking her, and she is now well broke to lead. I think she would make a good choice for a beginner who plans to machine milk.

My boys have been working with her on haulter breaking and she is broke well enough for my 6 year old to walk around the yard once her haulter is on. She has medium-long teats and milks easy by hand or machine.  I think this girl would be a perfect fit for someone new to cows and wanting to hand milk.

Cimi is a sweet 2 year old Jersey. She is naturally polled and has a cute, smaller frame. She has some small white spots, so likely to produce some calves with spots. She had her first calf on her own in February and is a great mom. She loves the calves and sometimes takes on nurse cow duty. She produces well from 3/4. Her back left is completely dead and never produced. She is well behaved for milking by hand or machine.  Her front teats are medium long. And her one working back quarter is about medium length. She has cycled since we took our bull, Osceola, out of the milking herd, so she is open and ready to breed in a couple of months for a Spring calf. If you would like a calm, sweet cow that is quite versitile this may be a good fit for your farm.

She is getting used to the milking routine and rarley dances or kicks. She does prefer being milked from behind. I absolutely love her coloring with the white highlights around her eyes and nose.

This is Ellie she is a 4 year old that is sweet and gentle and was easy to milk by hand or machine.  Her teats are placed nicly. Only about medium length, but comfortable for me to milk by hand. She is an average producer with a peak around 4 gal per day last lactation. Currently dry and confirmed pregnant. She has been haulter trained, but its been about 6 months since she has been on lead, so she will likely need some practice to get back into the swing of it. We accidentally got her due dates off and dried her up early. Had our vet palpate preg check her end of April and she said she was pregnant 3rd period. Probably due end of June to early July. Ellie would make a great cow for someone who wants a little time to get to know their cow befoee they have to start milking. She was bred to Dandy an a2a2 registered jersey bull.

She is patient and usually stands still for milking by hand or machine.  She has nice medium teat length and a nice, soft udder. She sill be 4 this summer. She is confirmed bred to Osceola carrying her 3rd calf. She is a great mom. Her first two calves were born easy on her own and she calf shared with them at the beginning of each lactation. She is now on 1x per day milking without calf sharing. She is due end of October. This girl has been easy to keep weight on her and decided to keep her bull calf for future breeding on our farm. She is well broke to lead, and my children walk her without any issues. She also is willing to stand tied for an hr or more at a time.

Peppi is such a social butterfly, loves to meet new people and follow them around.  She has a cute little curve to her nose that makes her looks like she is always smiling. She is 2.5 years old and bred back quickly for an October calf. She is bred to Osceola.  She has a very nice plump udder with medium teat length and good spacing. She is a bit picky about how she is milked, but this is pretty typical for 2 year olds. She does better with machine milking at this time.

Choni has a very playfull personality. She is a lot of fun and is not agressive at all, but she will dance around and rub on me for attention. She can be like a big puppy dog which can be a lot of fun, but you have to be careful and make sure she knows to back off if she gets too rough. She is 2.5 years old. She calved on her own her first time, and has behaved really well for me wether milking her by hand or machine. She is currently open and milking pretty consistantly 2 gal/day. She has nice, medium teat length with good spacing and is fairly comfortable to milk by hand. She is a shorter more compact girl that holds condition well. She is not a high production cow, but a nice easy keeper, and will likely go up in production on her second lactation.
